MY TIME AT THE INSTITUTE OF INTEGRATIVE NUTRITION (IIN)

Chronic health issues and constant lack of help from doctors led me on a soul searching adventure. I spontaneously decided to enroll in the Institute of Integrative Nutrition shortly after completing my undergraduate communication degree in 2020. I did IIN’s 6 month program and graduated with my health coaching certification in 2021. I went into this course with the intention of educating myself to then educate my loved ones.

IIN expanded my views more than I could have ever imagined and educated me on so much regarding holistic health and the dire need for health coaches in this world. In March of 2022, I launched my own carefully crafted coaching program. I have always had a passion for helping others (primarily through the nonprofit sector) and I never ever thought I would be going down this avenue of caring for others. IIN’s primary focus teaches us how biodiverse we all are; what works for me may not work for my potential clients and it is how I have learned to structure my coaching services.

If you have ever considered going into the holistic health field or even just learning more about how you can help your family and yourself, now is a good time to check out IIN. You can go here to get a sample nutrition class to get more understanding of what the course structure looks like. This link will provide you with a free program overview guide. I am an ambassador and able to offer you a discount if you do decide to enroll in the course.

Now to answer some specific questions:

What is IIN?

Institute of Integrative Nutrition is the largest and longest leading nutrition and health coaching school in the world. It was founded in 1992 and has educated over 155,000 people in 175 countries. It is licensed by the New York State Education Department and the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools.

What is a health coach?

A health coach is your personal guide on the side and gives you the extra push while holding you accountable. We assist you in implementing healthy lifestyle changes in your everyday living. We provide you with the necessary resources needed on your wellness journey. We aid our clients in developing further understanding of the lifestyle choices that work best for them. We start with the basics and go from there.

What does the course look like?

IIN offers a 6 month accelerated program or a 12 month program that is all done online. Both options cover the same information and there are 40 modules. You unlock a new module every week during the 12-month program and 2 modules per week in the accelerated program. The modules are split into four sections and each section ends with a test. There are four tests and one final exam. Each module is also accompanied by supportive PDF documents. The health coaching course is great for anyone that is passionate about the health and wellness world. Once you complete this course, you are able to further your education by taking other IIN courses. This course does not qualify you to become a nutritionist or dietitian. It provides you with knowledge on holistic health for yourself and for others. I would recommend doing further research on how a health coach differentiates from other health experts and the possible career fields.

Is this course doable with a full-time job?

I would say yes. I was personally working part-time but did have a packed schedule and was able to accommodate the lectures into my routine with no issues. If you are working full-time, I recommend doing the one year program and not the accelerated six month program. You will need to allocate about 5-8 hours per week for the 12 month program and about 10-16 hours per week for the 6 month

program. Since it is all online, you can easily listen to the lectures on your commute home, during a walk, or while cooking. The structure of the program is overall extremely flexible.

Who are the instructors?

The course is taught by some of the most prominent figures in the health and wellness world. The majority of the program is led by Joshua Rosenthal, the founder of IIN, along with 95 other visiting faculty and speakers. The rest of the program is taught by experts such as Deepak Chopra, Mark Hyman, Andrew Weil, and many more. All of the lectures are pre-recorded and are there for you to do on your own time within the time period.

Full disclosure: I became a brand ambassador for IIN shortly after graduating. This means that I receive a monetary reward when people are referred to the program by me. If you would like to enroll and use me as a referral, mention my full name (Gabi Dimitrova) when you schedule a call with the admissions office!

If you have any further questions about the IIN program, feel free to send me an email at sustainableeats.gab@gmail.com. I absolutely love talking about my IIN journey and how unexpected it was for me!
